Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park
The Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park is home to an entertaining and eclectic collection of aquatic creatures, including electric eels, sharks, piranhas, and endangered green sea turtles. A highlight is the “Seahorse Rodeo,” which features one of the largest and the smallest species of seahorse. The “Amazon Flooded Forest” is a 10,500-gallon tank that showcases 30 species of fish from the second-longest river in the world. The “World of Aquatic Diversity” gives you a peek at some of the most unusual animals in the sea, including jellyfish, stonefish, and the batfish, with its bizarre “lure” that moves back and forth to attract prey. A viewing window at the breeding lab for rare and endangered species gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the museum’s many ongoing conservation projects.
